Official launch of the 2015 upperlimb.com Cunningham Classic
/Kangaroo Point Cycling Club is pleased to officially launch the 2015 edition of the upperlimb.com Cunningham Classic.
This is the 33rd edition of the upperlimb.com Cunningham Classic, an event that has become a signature race on the Cycling Queensland road calendar and earned it's reputation as Queensland's toughest and most prestigious one day road race classic by twice winning Cycling Queensland Event of the Year.
In launching the 2015 race, Club President Cameron Hemming acknowledged the overwhelming support the event has received from the cycling community and on behalf of the Kangaroo Point Cycling Club expressed appreciation to long term Event Director Betty Bathersby, Club Members, Cycling Queensland and the more than 6,500 competitors who have previously taken part in this iconic race.
"Kangaroo Point Cycling Club is fortunate to be able to successfully deliver this quality event with ever increasing logistical challenges and expresses its deep gratitude to the Event's Sponsors for their unwavering long-term support" he also said.
In this year's race more than 400 riders will depart Gatton on Saturday the 1st of August to race on a picturesque and challenging 96km or 171km course from the Lockyer Valley to the Darling Downs, taking in the challenging Main Range along the way, before an exciting sprint finish in Warwick.
This years race will feature many of the most successful elements of previous editions and as always; Kangaroo Point Cycling Club will be announcing more exciting changes to the format of the event in the lead up to race day.
